Monks promote the 7 principles of Leave No Trace

5 January 2022

We here at Monks LOVE where we work and live so therefore adopt the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace
The Leave No Trace principles provide an easily understood framework of minimum impact practices for anyone visiting the outdoors. Although Leave No Trace has its roots in the countryside, the Principles have been adapted so that they can be applied anywhere — from remote areas, to local parks and even in your own neighbourhood. They also apply to almost every recreational activity.
Each Principle covers a specific topic and provides detailed information for minimising impacts.
The 7 Principles are:

  1. Plan Ahead and Prepare
  2. Be Considerate of Others
  3. Respect Farm Animals and Wildlife
  4. Travel and Camp on Durable Ground
  5. Leave What You Find
  6. Dispose of Waste Properly
  7. Minimise the Effects of Fire
Practising a Leave No trace ethic is very simple: Make it hard for others to see or hear you and LEAVE NO TRACE of your visit to Ballyvaughan, the Burren and Cliffs of Moher.
