Here at Monks Ballyvaughan, you can savour a rich and creamy seafood chowder with hearty treacle bread. Our delicious local offerings are especially tasty after a drive through the Burren or along The Wild Atlantic Way. Or why not try the delicate combination of wild smoked salmon with a glass of ‘the Black Stuff’ as the sun slowly sets over Ballyvaughan Harbour. These are tastes that define the spirit of Ireland – tastes that have made Monks Ballyvaughan famous as the Galway Bay home of seafood for more than 20 years.
The wild freshness of the Atlantic seaboard is in every forkful of our fish and seafood and of course, there’s no richer larder than the Burren. Situated at the heart of the Burren Food Trail, we are committed to supporting local suppliers of food and produce.
Whether it’s wonderful hand-crafted goats’ cheese, traditionally-cured ham or locally smoked salmon – all our ingredients have been grown or produced with love and integrity. We are led by local producers therefore our menus are seasonal. So be sure to check out what’s new and different when you visit.
We are closed at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions. We are not taking bookings at this time.
Perhaps you’re looking for a private space for an intimate celebration. Maybe you’re a tour operator in search of the best seafood for your large group. Or perhaps, you simply want to join us for lunch or dinner. There are so many ways you can enjoy a Monks Ballyvaughan experience.
From a light lunch to a traditional evening treat, from premium cuts of seasonal fish to succulent steaks -we have you catered….
